Ville-Valtteri Visuri works as an advisor at Teknoventure Oy. He has experience in securing national and international funding from public sources in collaboration with private companies and has played a major role in acquiring several research projects with a combined budget of over €30 million.
He has over 10 years of experience in research and development (R&D) related to the steel industry, most recently serving as an Associate Professor and leader of the Primary Metallurgy Research Group at the University of Oulu. Before returning to academia, he worked as an R&D Manager at Outokumpu Stainless Oy. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed scientific publications on steelmaking metallurgy and has been a Visiting Researcher at RWTH Aachen University in 2014 and 2019. Visuri is also a part-time Business Development Specialist at Luxmet Oy, a company specializing in advanced high-temperature process monitoring and control systems for the metals industry. Additionally, he serves as a deputy board member at Teknoventure Oy, a board member at Hannu Luukinen Oy, Vice-Chairman of the Oulu University Society, a board member of the Finnish Association for Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Centre for Advanced Steels Research.
Visuri holds the title of Docent (Adjunct Professor) in Process Metallurgy from the University of Oulu. He earned a D.Sc. (Tech.) in Process Engineering and M.Sc. (Tech.) and B.Sc. (Tech.) degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management. He is also qualified as a European Engineer (EUR ING) by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) and holds the Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom from the Goethe-Institut Düsseldorf. His working languages are Finnish, English and German.
